Mark Moses

Mark Moses has consulted local governments in the areas of finance and administration since 2011. Prior, he spent two decades working directly for municipalities in senior management positions. His perspective on local government has been informed and influenced by his earlier career in small business consulting and banking and his interest in applied economics and philosophy. He is the author of The Municipal Financial Crisis – A Framework for Understanding and Fixing Government Budgeting, published by Palgrave Macmillan. His book provides an insider’s account of how and why municipalities systematically take on more than they can handle administratively, operationally, and financially – and he answers the question of what we can do to fix such problems.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Golden Gate University, San Francisco.
