Brian Thiede is assistant professor of Rural Sociology, Sociology, and Demography at Pennsylvania State University. His research focuses on the relationship between environmental change, demographic behavior, and economic development, primarily in low- and middle-income countries. He also explores poverty and inequality in the United States.
