Zoning’s Arbitrary Lines
On October 25, Nolan Gray of CaliforniaYIMBY addressed an audience at the Kansas City Library on housing and zoning policy as part of the library’s Making a Great City speaker series.
The talk was a reminder of how some of the housing policies cities adopted in the past 100 years had unsavory intentions. Kansas City, with its history of blockbusting, redlining and restrictive covenants is no exception.
My review of Nolan’s book, “Arbitrary Lines,” is here, and you can watch his entire presentation online here.
